Privacy Policy

The short version: we store your conversations, notes, and memory because the product can't work otherwise. Encrypted at rest, never sold, never used to train models, deletable in one click.

What we store

Three things, all of which exist so Hearth can do its job:

Conversations — the messages between you and Hearth, so a talk can continue and so the note can be written. Session notes — the short note after each talk, written for you to reread. Memory — a running summary of what matters across your talks, so you never have to start over.

We also hold the basics of an account: your email, display name, and plan. Payment details go to Square; we never see your card number.

2

How it's protected

Conversations, notes, and memory are encrypted at rest. Access is scoped to your account at the database level — your rows are readable by your session and by the code that serves you, and by nothing else.

3

What we never do

Your words are not a product

We do not sell your data. We do not share it with advertisers or data brokers. We do not use your conversations to train AI models — ours or anyone else's.

4

Who processes your data

Two processors touch your data to make the product work: our database host stores it (encrypted), and the AI provider processes each message to generate Hearth's replies, under terms that forbid training on it. Square processes payments. None of them may use your data for their own purposes.

5

Deleting your data

The Your data page in your account has two buttons: export everything as JSON, and delete everything — conversations, notes, and memory — in one click, no email required. Deleted data leaves our backups within 30 days.

To close the whole account, email privacy@hearth.app from your account address. We action it within 30 days and confirm.

6

Retention

Conversations, notes, and memory: until you delete them. Billing records: seven years, because tax law requires it.

7

Under-18s

Hearth is 18+ only and we don't knowingly collect data from minors. If you believe a minor has an account, tell us and we'll remove it.

8

Changes and contact

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we'll email you first. Questions: privacy@hearth.app.
